Multipurpose Sports Park
In 1998, Dekker served as the designer and architect for this multi-purpose sports park. In 2012, Dekker designed and developed construction documents for an addition. The original project included planning, design and construction of a 78-acre regional park located in the middle of the City along the Montoyas Arroyo. Included were two lighted 300-foot adult softball fields, little league fields and multi-purpose fields. Support facilities included restrooms, storage buildings, and parking.
The new addition is located on the west side of the park near the entrance of Loma Colorado – a 1,000-home new community. The park was developed in a public-private partnership between Pulte Homes of New Mexico and the City of Rio Rancho. The full build-out of the park includes playgrounds, court areas for tennis, basketball and handball, a sand volleyball tournament complex, a facility for restroom, concession and storage, a dog park, trail connections, and parking.
