Sacred Peaks Health Center
Sacred Peaks Health Center replaces a dated health center located two miles from the new site. The new modern facility focuses on outpatient care for the Native American population. Its non-urgent primary care services will focus on internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, and gynecology. The facility also includes a lab, pharmacy, radiology, and physical and occupational therapy rooms.
The entry is oriented to the east in consideration of cardinal symbolism to the tribes being served and to protect patients and visitors from prevailing southwest winds. The lobby features an abstracted Hogan suspended above a circular carpet divided into quadrants by the cardinal directions. A radiating pattern extends from this focal point to the hardscape sitework.
The building is designed to maximize views from the physical therapy and lobby spaces. Interior finishes incorporate cedar wood and light blue tones to support the healing environment. The design is both modern and culturally significant.
