Community takes center stage
VHS Performing Arts Center
The Valencia High School Performing Arts Center helps to promote the school's enthusiasm for music, drama and also provides a venue for other community events. Through careful coordination with our acoustical / technical consultant, the 600-seat auditorium conveniently locates all seating on one level and still provides excellent sight lines and acoustics to every member of the audience.
The stage was designed to accommodate a variety of performances, from theatrical and small jazz bands, to the 85-piece symphonic band. Like many schools, Valencia High School needed flexibility to accommodate their curriculum and make the best use of the available funds. The stage can be configured with acoustical panels to project the sound into the audience, or curtains or a cyclorama as a back drop for scenes or projected images. Other support spaces include a separate control room, scene shop, a cat walk level for theatrical lighting, and a suite with a dressing room and costume storage.
The new Performing Arts Center will also allow Valencia High School to host district and state adjudicated events, and expand their curriculum to teach students how to operate state-of-the-art Audio/Visual equipment. This project is the 11th phase of a multi-year, multi-phase campus plan and also included additional parking and drop-off area. It is located near the existing Fine Arts Building for convenient access between practice rooms and performance spaces, and close to the Gymnasium for additional pre-function space if needed.
